Sikxya is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to providing equitable access to quality education for underprivileged children in Nepal. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, regardless of their socio-economic background, gender, ethnicity, or geographic location.

शिक्षा नै परिवर्तनको मुल आधार हो। सिक्क्ष्यले गरिब, ग्रामीण र सीमान्तकृत समुदायका बालबालिकालाई गुणस्तरीय शिक्षा उपलब्ध गराउने लक्ष्य राखेको छ।
We work closely with communities, schools, teachers, and parents to create sustainable educational models that uplift entire generations.

Bridging Gaps in Education Since 2015
Sikxya was founded by a group of educators and social workers who witnessed the deep inequalities in the education system across Nepal. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education by building resilient learning ecosystems.

हामी विश्वास गर्छौं कि शिक्षा सबैका लागि हुनु पर्छ, केहीका लागि मात्र होइन। हामीले सुरु गर्दा पाँच जना स्वयंसेवक थियौं, अहिले हामीसँग सयौं शिक्षक, विद्यार्थी र समर्थकहरू जोडिएका छन्।
We work across rural and semi-urban areas where children often drop out due to poor infrastructure, financial difficulties, or social barriers. Through our work, we provide not just classrooms—but hope, dignity, and opportunity.

  1. Infrastructure Development
    We renovate dilapidated school buildings and construct classrooms, child-friendly toilets, and libraries in rural government schools. Access to a safe learning environment is the first step toward educational equity.

  2. Scholarship Programs
    Each year, Sikxya provides full scholarships—including uniforms, stationery, tuition, and travel support—to more than 300 children from marginalized communities.

हामी प्रत्येक वर्ष ३०० भन्दा बढी बालबालिकालाई छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान गर्छौं जसमा शुल्क, पोशाक, किताब, यातायात आदि समावेश हुन्छ।

  1. Teacher Training
    Our certified educators train local teachers on interactive, inclusive, and learner-centered methodologies. We also focus on mental health awareness and digital teaching tools.

  2. Community Learning Centers (CLCs)
    Sikxya has established more than 40 CLCs in remote areas where children receive after-school support, digital learning, and life-skill training.

  3. Girls' Education & Menstrual Hygiene
    We run awareness campaigns and provide hygiene kits to ensure that girls do not drop out due to lack of access to basic menstrual care.

  • Child-Centricity (बालमैत्री): Every decision is taken keeping the child’s best interest in mind.

We welcome passionate individuals to contribute by:

  • Teaching English, Math, or Science in rural schools

  • Helping in school library setup and reading clubs

  • Conducting art, drama, or digital literacy sessions

  • Supporting fundraising and social media campaigns

स्वयंसेवकको सहभागिताले शिक्षाको पहुँच फैलाउने हाम्रो अभियानलाई थप बलियो बनाउँछ। तपाईंको सानो समयले ठूलो परिवर्तन ल्याउन सक्छ।

Sikxya leads advocacy efforts on:

  • Right to free and compulsory education

  • Awareness on early childhood education

  • Anti-child labor education

  • Inclusion of children with disabilities

हामी समुदायमा मात्र होइन, नीति निर्माताहरूसँग पनि शिक्षाको समावेशी नीति लागू गर्न पहल गर्छौं।
We also create educational radio programs, street dramas, school campaigns, and parent counseling sessions to build awareness at the grassroots level.
